I hear this humbling statement at every SA meeting that I attend but often seem to overlook it:

"We realize we know only a little. God will constantly disclose more to you and to us." AA Big Book p 164. 

No matter how long I've been in programme, how much sobriety I may have, or how much reading I do - I know only a little. The beauty is - if I keep an open mind I can hear what God is constantly disclosing to me. 

If I start to believe the press releases from the PR firm in my own head, I will close myself off from God, stop hearing His good news, and step backwards, closer to my addiction. 

I have to remember that it is often better to understand than to be understood - sit and listen. Today, I'm committed to listening and being open to learning from my Higher Power.
